Man Pleads Guilty To Middletown Burglaries, Faces Five Years in Prison

A Beachwood man pleaded guilty today to committing a series of residential burglaries in Middletown that resulted in the loss of more than $300,000 in jewelry and other personal items, Acting Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said in a press release.

Nicholas Tracy, 22, appeared before the Judge Ronald L. Reisner and entered pleas of guilty to charges related to each burglary which included, among other residences, the home of Jon Bon Jovi.

Specifically, Tracy pleaded guilty to three counts of theft, each graded as second-degree crimes, and count of burglary, a third-degree crime.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, Tracy is to be sentenced to 5 years imprisonment in New Jersey State Prison. Judge Reisner has scheduled sentencing for October 12, 2012.

The charges arose from an investigation conducted by the Middletown Police Department involving a series of residential burglaries in the Navesink River Road area that occurred on March 14, April 1, and April 3 of 2011.

In each incident, entry was made into the homes and a significant amount of personal property was taken, mostly in the form of jewelry.

On April 13, 2011, the Middletown Police responded to yet another report of a burglary and located Tracy in the residence in the midst of committing the crime. Tracy was arrested and further investigation led to the recovery of some of the stolen property.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Sean J. Brennan. Mr. Tracy is represented by James Gerrow, Jr., Esq. of Hainesport.
