Middletown Man Had Marijuana, Intended to Distribute Drug, Police Charge

A Middletown man possessed drugs and intended to distribute marijuana, police said in a log of recent township law enforcement activity.

William Roth, 31, of Ideal Avenue, was arrested and charged on Oct. 30 with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute the drug, according to police.

Officers Richard Belmonte and Keith Hirschbein of Middletown’s Quality of Life Unit made the arrest on a warrant issued by the Monmouth County Narcotics Task Force, according to police.

Roth was booked on $50,000 bail set by the Monmouth County Superior Court, police said.

Police also charged a Reta Lane man with several drug violations on Oct. 23, including heroin possession.

James Fleming, 20, faces that charge in addition to being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe, theft, and burglary, according to police.

Fleming also was charged with obtaining prescription drugs by fraud, and the unlawful possession of the prescription medications Dilaudid and Clonazepam, according to police.

The charges were issued by Patrolman Adam Colfer. Fleming is being held on $27,500 bail, police said.

Charges issued by law enforcement do not indicate guilt.
