Middletown Man Indicted on Heroin Possession Charge

A Port Monmouth man was indicted last week for heroin possession, a Monmouth County grand jury decided.

James Fleming, 20, of Reta Lane is accused of possessing heroin in Middletown on or around Aug. 30, according to the indictment.

Fleming remains in custody at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $27,500 bail, according to inmate records.

In October, Fleming also was charged by Middletown police with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe, theft, and burglary, according to police.

He also faces charges for obtaining prescription drugs by fraud, and the unlawful possession of the prescription medications Dilaudid and Clonazepam, according to police.
