Middletown Man Faces Charges of Sexual Assault of a Minor

Samuel Mitchell of Middletown was formally charged by a grand jury in Freehold today.

A Grand Jury in Freehold handed down an indictment against a Middletown man accused of sexual crimes against a minor under his care. 

Samuel Mitchell, 44, of Middletown was charged by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office with five counts related to the crimes which they say occurred between Sept. 29, 2007 and April 23, 2012 in Middletown and/or Keansburg.

The charges include sexual assault, alleged to have occurred when the victim under his care was less than 13 years old. They also include aggravated criminal sexual contact and two counts of sexual assault, alleged to have occurred when the minor was between 13 and 16; as well as one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
