Middletown Man Sexually Assaulted Child, Police Charge

Incidents spanned several years, according to police

A Middletown man faces sexual assault charges after authorities alleged he had years of inappropriate contact with a 10-year-old under his care.

Henry M. Chuya, 20, is charged with committing acts of sexual assault and contact “several” times between 2010 and October 2013, according to a criminal complaint filed in Middletown last week.

The incidents allegedly occurred at his Knollwood Drive residence, according to authorities.

Chuya had assumed responsibility for the child at the time of the incidents, though the relationship of the two was not made clear by authorities.

Chuya was arrested on Dec. 12 and is being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $100,000 bail, no 10 percent option, according to inmate records.
