Middletown NJ Police Blotter: Jan. 28-Feb. 5

The following information was distributed by the Middletown, NJ Police Dept. on Feb. 7, 2013. An arrest does not indicate a conviction, and all are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Unless noted, all were released pending a court date. 

Jan. 28: Dawn Garaffa, 33, of Ithaca Ave. in Oceanport was arrested by Ptl. Michael Allen for shoplifting from Kohls.

Jan. 29: Ronald McKee, 18, of Swartzel  Dr. in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Anthony Bumbico and Ptl. Richard Fulham of the Quality of Life Unit for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.

George Peterson, 18, of Millbrook  Dr. in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Richard Fulham and Ptl. Anthony Bumbico of the Quality of Life Unit for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Paula Nieves, 33, of Hopping Road in Belford was arrested by Ptl. Jason Caruso for harassment and resisting arrest.

Jan. 30: Kathleen Wahler, 30, of Locust Terrace in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Anthony Dellatacoma for DWI.

Daniel Wahler, 27, of Park Ave. in Staten Island, NY was arrested by Ptl. Anthony Dellatacoma for obstructing an investigation.

Christopher Schuyler, 21, of Dartmouth Dr. in Hazlet was arrested by Ptl. Thomas Hughes for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of heroin.

Ricky Martinez, 20, of Creek Rd. in Keansburg was arrested by Ptl. Raymond Sofield for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Keenan Johnson, 21, of Royal Ct. in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Anthony Dellatacoma for disorderly conduct.

Jan. 31: Bryan Bernstein, 36, of Browns Dock Rd. in Atlantic Highlands was arrested by Ptl. Adam Colfer for simple assault.

Vivian Tortoriello, 63, of Beers Street in Keyport was arrested on by Ptl. Daniel Benbrook for shoplifting from Sears. She was held on $2,500 bail with no 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

Ptl. Charles Higgins arrested four male minors for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. Charged were two 16 year-olds from Belmar and Red Bank; a 17-year old from Red Bank and a 17 year-old from Middletown.  

Feb. 1: John Osborne, 19, of Brandywine  Dr. in Matawan was arrested by Sgt. Michael Kenney for DWI.

Barry Seward, 46, of Washington Ave. in Keansburg was arrested by Ptl. James Beirne for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 2: Allen Salvaggi, 79, of Cross Run Rd. in Holmdel was arrested by Ptl. James Beirne for shoplifting from Sears.

Feb. 3: Ptl. Antonio Ciccone arrested a 17 year old female juvenile from Lincroft for shoplifting from Kohls.

On February 3, 2013 Ptl. Scott Davis arrested a 16 year-old female juvenile from Red Bank for shoplifting from Kohls.

Feb. 4: Wayne Hagel, 52, of Palmer Ave. in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Adam Colfer for criminal mischief and on a non-Support warrant issued by the Monmouth County Superior Court. He was held on $54,186.38 bail.

Police arrested four members of the Murphy family of Belford family on various charges, including drug and weapons offenses. Read the report here. 

Feb. 5: Justin Taylor, 19, of Mohawk Ave. in Leonardo was arrested by Ptl. Brian Dilworth for defiant trespass.

Brian Handler, 20, of Sandy Hook Ave. in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Brian Dilworth for defiant trespass.
