Middletown PD: Arrests for Failure to Register as Sex Offender, Records Tampering, Heroin

The police blotter also includes the arrest of 12- and 13-year olds on criminal trespass charges.

Middletown Township Police report the following arrests. An arrest is not a conviction. Those arrested were released pending a court date, unless indicated. 

April 21:

Ptl. Ryan Riffert arrested three male juveniles for Criminal Trespass. A 12 and 13-year old are from Middletown; a 12 year old from Middletown.

April 22:

Ronald Roy, 62, from Bayside Parkway in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Nicholas Fenezia for Stalking. He was held on $5,000 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.

April 23: 

Andrew Gill, 20, from Grafton Avenue in Newark was arrested by Det. Daniel Sullivan for Harassment for making numerous false calls to the Middletown Police Department.

April 24: 

Philip Donnelly Jr., 52, from Highway 36 in Hazlet was arrested by Det. Keith Hirschbein for Use of a Stolen Credit Card.

April 25: 

John Scalzo, 19, from Davis Lane in Red Bank was arrested by Ptl. John Mele for Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was held on $5,000 bail with a 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

Barry Grasser, 67, from New Monmouth Road in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Ricardo Cruz for Shoplifting from the Rite Aid Store and on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was held on $2,500 bail.

Ellen Weinstein, 64, from New Monmouth Road in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Ricardo Cruz for Shoplifting from the Rite Aid Store.

Rhonda Parker, 50, from New Monmouth Road in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Antonio Ciccone for Tampering with Public Records.

April 26: 

Michael Dumycz, 22, from Palmer Avenue in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Savvas Roumeliotis for Simple Assault. He was released after posting $1,000 bail with a 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

April 27:  

Keith Smith, 39, from Waters Edge Drive in Toms River was arrested by Ptl. Savvas Roumeliotis for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe and Possession of Heroin.

Ryan Marks, 28, from Lexington Road in Red Bank was arrested by Ptl. Scott Davis on a Violation of Parole warrant.

April 29:

Benjamin Franklin, 49, from Grove Place in Keansburg was arrested by Ptl. Raymond Sofield for Simple Assault.  He was released after posting $2,500 bail with a 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

April 30:

Tangerla McElroy, 48, from Wedgewood Circle in Belford was arrested by Det. Daniel Sullivan for Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and on Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Atlantic Highlands and Allenhurst Municipal Courts. She was released after posting $279 bail.

Robert Bolgna, 42, from Bart Place in Hazlet was arrested by Det. Keith Hirschbein for Possession of Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was held on $5,000 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.

May 1: 

Robert Cavanagh, 28, from Cliffwood Avenue in Keyport was arrested by Ptl. Albert Scott on a Violation of Parole warrant issued by the Monmouth County Superior Court. He was held pending a court date. 

Joseph Uriarte, 30, from Port Monmouth Road in Port Monmouth was arrested by Officer John Soltysik of the Quality of Life Unit for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender required by Megan’s Law.
