The Latest On 'The Situation:' Mike Sorrentino Arrested At Tanning Salon in Middletown

The latest on the "Jersey Shore" character who, like others in the former cast, got himself in a bit of legal trouble.

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino was arrested by Middletown Township Police and charged with simple assault Tuesday afternoon after a fight at the Route 35 tanning salon his family owns in Middletown, according to reports in APP.com and NJ.com, as well as national celebrity news outlets. 



The former Jersey Shore reality TV star got into a scrape with his brother Frank over how to run the business, reported TMZ, Photos of Sorrentino with what appears to be a cut on his eye and a bandaged hand can be seen on the TMZ website. 

A string of Twitter messages reportedly between the brothers, in which personal cellphone numbers were announced, may indicate that tempers were flaring on the extremely hot Tuesday afternoon. Read the exchange of messages on APP.com.

The brothers are starring in a reality show debuting July 15 for TV Guide Network dubbed The Sorrentinos, reports E! Online.

Sorrentino was released by Middletown Police after posting $500 bail, according to APP.com.

Sorrentino plans to open another Boca Tanning Salon in Manalapan. A grand opening will held after the July 4 weekend, according to a posting on Manalapan Patch by the event planner.
