Throw Bodily Fluid At A Cop, Go To Jail

A Manasquan man is facing a list of charges, including throwing bodily fluid at a cop, along with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer stemming from a Dec. 4 incident, according to a grand jury indictment.

Alberto Chavez-Ramos, 22, of Taylor Ave., will face charges of third degree resisting arrest, two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer – fourth and third-degree charges  – and one count of throwing bodily fluid, an aggravated assault charge, according to an indictment handed up Wednesday.

A New York man was arrested, charged and jailed this week on $100,000 cash bail for abducting a Neptune resident and holding him hostage while he attempted to extort money for the man’s release.

Charles Nieves, 61, whose last known address was in the Bronx, NY, was arrested and charged this week with kidnapping in connection with the Jan. 5 incident.

Nieves handcuffed and abducted the victim and demanded money for his release saying that he was a bounty hunter and that there was an active warrant out for the victim, according to the arrest warrant.

No warrant existed. The victim was released unharmed, the warrant says.
