On the Beat with Middletown Police: Arresting Update, June 4 and 5

On June 5 at 6:15 a.m., Patrolman Albert Scott and Sgt. Fred Deickmann responded to the area of Richard Terrace and Stephenville Road in reference to a motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, the officers found Brian Robison, 44, of Walnut Avenue, Red Bank, standing outside his vehicle covered in blood. The officers also located a bottle of Sambvca inside the vehicle.

The officers then conducted an investigation that resulted in Robison being arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, open alcohol in a motor vehicle and reckless driving, all motor vehicle offenses.

He was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 5 at 3:25 a.m., Patrolman Raymond Sofield responded to the area of Oakland Avenue in reference to an unresponsive male inside a vehicle.

Upon arrival, Officer Sofield approached the person, identified as Nigel Combs, 22, of Oakland Avenue and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath.

Patrolman Sofield conducted an investigation that resulted in Combs being arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, motor vehicle offenses.

He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 5 at 12:05 a.m., Patrolman Raymond Sofield responded to the Quick Check store on Cherry Tree Farm Road in reference to a report of a shoplifting.

Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a store employee who reported that someone had entered the store and stole a lighter display. The employee was able to provide a plate number of the suspect’s vehicle.

Officer Sofield conducted an investigation  that resulted in the arrest of Kiernan Kelly, 22, from Sandpring Drive in Eatontown, on charges of shoplifting and the recovery of the stolen lighters.

Kelly was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 4 at 12:40 a.m., Patrolman Frank Mazza was on patrol in the area of Route 35 and Cooper Road when he observed a vehicle being driven with a view obstruction in the window.

Officer Mazza stopped the vehicle and approached the driver, identified as Scott Jagarnauth, 19, of Swimming River Road in the Lincroft section of Middletown. While speaking with Jagarnauth, Officer Mazza observed a bottle of Jack Daniels Whiskey on the back seat.

Officer Mazza conducted an investigation that resulted in Jagarnauth being arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol.

He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 4 at 10:27 p.m., Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia was on patrol in the area of Fairview Fields when he observed a group of approximately 15 people begin running when they saw his police vehicle. Officer Fenezia was able to locate two of the people and provided a description of another to patrol officers in the area.

Patrolman Michael Pintilie was able to locate one on a nearby street. The officers conducted an investigation that resulted in the arrests of three people on various charges.

Jared Johnson, 19, of North 147 Avenue in Surprise, Az., was charged with underage possession of alcohol and obstructing the administration of law. Samuel Mader, 19, of Conover Lane, Red Bank, was charged with underage possession of alcohol, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and obstructing the administration of law. Timothy Dugan, 19, of McCutcheon Court, Middletown, was charged with possession of alcohol underage and obstructing the administration of law.

All three were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released pending a court date.
