Parkway Accident Kills One, Injures Two

The accident at mile 108 took lives, caused traffic.

A pedestrian was killed and two others were injured in the mid-morning crash that caused more than 10 miles of traffic south on the Garden State Parkway, NJ State Police said.

The pedestrian allegedly left his disabled vehicle before being struck. His passenger and another man who stopped to help him were injured in the crash. 

The accident took place this morning at 9:15am, near mile 108. The pedestrian was struck by a white minivan with an adult driver and two juvenile passengers, Trooper Alina Spies told the Asbury Park Press.

The accident and subsequent investigation also closed two southbound lanes on the Parkway this morning. The traffic has since cleared.
