Police: Middletown Burglar Got in Through a Window

A Leonardo man was charged by police for stealing money from a house in his own neighborhood.

A 20-year old Leonardo man climbed through the window of a home on Thompson Avenue and made off with $317 on Friday, according to Middletown police. 

Peter Christensen, age 20, from Florence Avenue, was arrested on that same day by Middletown Police Patrolman Frank Mazza and charged with burglary, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police. 

He was allegedly in possession of a crack pipe, according to an arrest warrant.

He was held on $5,000 bail with no option to post ten percent of the bond, set by Judge Richard Thompson. He has since been released and is due to answer charges on June 10. 

Burglary is a third degree crime. A defendant, if found guilty, may face a prison term of 3-5 years if convicted.
