Police Report: Trip to Wawa and a Smoke Land Two in Trouble with Law

The following information was provided by Middletown Township Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

For a young Port Monmouth man, a trip to Wawa ended in his arrest on charges stemming from prescription fraud. And an apparent nicotine fit ended up landing a Middletown woman in jail on an outstanding warrant charge.

On June 27, Patrolman Brian Dilworth and Patrolman Anthony Dellatacoma arrested and charged Justin Zeidner, 19, of Golden Eye Lane, Port Monmouth, with two counts of falsifying medical records.

The arrest was a result of an investigation conducted by the officers after Zeidner was found in possession of falsified prescription blanks on June 22 at the Wawa store on Route 36 in the Leonardo section of Middletown.

The officers had responded to the store after receiving information that Zeidner was in possession of prescription medications that had not been prescribed to him.

The officers located Zeidner and found two prescription blanks that appeared to have been altered. A follow-up investigation revealed that the doctor who was listed on the blanks had not prescribed the medications to Zeidner.

Zeidner was processed and was being held on $15,000 set by Judge Richard Thompson.

On June 28 at 5:40 p.m., Patrolman James Beirne responded to the area of the Retro Fitness Gym in reference to a report of a woman begging customers for cigarettes.

Upon arrival, Officer Beirne found Janis Van Nortwick, 42, from Oakdale Drive, Middletown, standing in front of the gym.

Officer Beirne conducted an investigation and determined there was a contempt of court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal court for Van Nortwick’s arrest.

She was taken into custody and was transported to police headquarters for processing. Van Nortwick was then transported to and held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold on $2,500 bail.
