Two Charged in Fatal Keansburg Stabbing

A Hazlet man and a Union Beach man face murder charges.

Two Monmouth County men have been arrested and charged with the murder of Santiago Rodriquez.

Kevin R. Acosta, 21, of Hazlet, and Marco A. Perez-Nery, 19, of Union Beach, were arrested by Keansburg police on Saturday, May 19 following the stabbing death of Rodriquez.

According to the complaint warrant, both Acosta and Perez-Neary are accused of stabbing Rodriquez with a six-inch fixed blade knife in Keansburg over the weekend. Both men are being charged with murder, possession of a weapon with the purpose to use it unlawfully, and for using the weapon to stab Rodriquez.

Both men have been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution with bail set at $1.2 million each. Neither of the men received an option to post 10 percent of the bond.

Acosta and Perez-Nery will have their first court appearance on Thursday, July 5 at 2 p.m.
