Woman's Shopping Spree at Monmouth Mall Ends With Her Arrest

Police charge a 27-year old woman with using four fraudulent credit cards to purchase items from trendy shops.


A 27-year old North Bergen woman went on a shopping spree at Monmouth Mall in Eatontown Thursday -- allegedly with a purse full of fraudulent credit cards. 

Police say Geovanni F. Paulina-Diaz, 27, of Charles Court was in possession of 10 fraudulent credit cards when she was arrested, and is accused of using four different ones to purchase things at the mall. 

Police charged Paulina-Diaz with ten counts of unlawful or fraudulent intent for using a card ending in 8852 to buy something in Gamestop, 3 items in JC Penney, 3 items at Express and 3 items at Hollister. 

Another card ending in 2266 was used to purchase another item at Gamestop. 

Macy's was also hit. Police say Paulina-Diaz used a third card ending in 0031 to make three separate purchases at Macy's, and another card ending in 8255 to purchase an item at Victoria's Secret. 

Paulina-Diaz was released on $40,000 bail, no ten percent option, and is scheduled to make an initial appearance before a judge on May 29.
