By Monday, Bulky Debris from Hurricane Sandy Must Be Curbside

Final street-by-street collection of all bulky waste will begin in Middletown.

Middletown residents must place all bulky waste from Superstorm Sandy curbside by Monday, December 3, say township officials.

Debris removal contractors perform one final street-by-street collection of all bulky waste.

Storm debris placed curbside after this collection will be the responsibility of the homeowner.

But this does not apply to leaves and brush. Brush must be placed curbside by Monday, December 17.   Brush contractors will then perform one final street by street collection of all brush.

Leaf and garbage collection will continue on its normal schedule by zone.

We will see about that - they have to get it done by then to get FEMA to pay for it. I hope the mayor can make it work correctly since he knows so much about how JCP&L should run the electric company. If this crap is not picked up properly maybe JCP&L can have a meeting about how the mayor cab organize the brush and bulk collection better.

That's right taxpayers, April is waiting - pony up those tax dollars and remove the debris from her house. Why is it taking so long, don't you know that April demands immediate attention from the government? I know that this was an unprecedented storm, but really, just spend whatever it takes to clean up for April and the rest of the spoiled Obama whiners who look to the government to solve all of their problems.

Gary Junstrom: You are the sorriest person I've seen on these blogs. April is only asking for what is right. From what I've heard from the residents of Port Monmouth. Middletown has not done their job for them. Those people do pay taxes too. Another thing is. How do yu figure she is an Obama whiner? I don't know where you live, or how the storm affected you. If you only lost your electricity, you should have gone and volunteered your time and muscles to help those that lost their homes and possesions. My daughter did that along with many others and they ask for nothing in return. What have you done, other than whine about someonbe expecting what should have been done by the township?

April I hope they pick up soon! I know people just want their homes and lives back to some sense of "normal", Gary I suppose you didn't have your home flooded, good for you but have some compassion. Get out of your bubble and see what your neighbors are dealing with! Grumpy well said! This trash is becoming a health hazard at this point. I know the township is working hard and doing their best.

I agree with you GJ, it seems like people are always looking for someone to blame if their lives are disrupted and the government is always there to fit the bill. And before you all start with the lectures, I live right off of Wilson Ave. and lost my furnace, hot water heater, sheetrock and pretty much the whole first floor. It stinks and it's been a miserable month but I always like to give credit were credit is due. The town has been great with text messages and calls keeping us informed, the cops and firemen have been super heroes in my book, the donations through the relief fund and all of the food, bleach, glovs are amazing and the women serving meals at the firhouse are also great. I always try to find the best even in a bad situation and there was a lot to be thankful for even though it was a bad storm.

Wondering about "brush contractors will do one final street by street collection" statement. We saw one in our neighborhood for the first time this past sunday am. They collected in front of two houses and left at 10:30 am. Was surprised to see them on sunday but strange to not move down the street toward the other homes. But very greatful we only have mounds of trees in front of our homes.

I believe the residents simply want their trash removed! Not too much to ask Joe! And Yes I so admire our township workers, committee members, and espically the VOLUNTEER fire departments and ambulance corps for their service. SOme lost homes while out helping others.

Gary should we leave it there? You are a whiner. People simply want the debris gone. Nothing about politics.
