Halloween "Trunk-or-Treat" Is Nov. 11; Volunteers Will Meet Friday at Town Hall, 10 a.m.

Halloween

For Halloween, the Township is working with the Board of Education to hold a special Halloween event called “Trunk or Treat.” This will be held Sunday afternoon November 11th. A complete list of times and participating schools will be released tomorrow along with further details.

Repairs

Residents and business owners who need to make repairs to homes, offices and storefronts damaged as a result of Hurricane Sandy should first contact the Building Department at 732-615-2104 for information regarding storm-related repairs.

Tax Payments Due Nov. 13

The Middletown Tax Office will be open for tax payments on Monday, Veteran’s Day, November 12th from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM to assist residents in getting payments in on-time as we all work to recover from Hurricane Sandy. State law requires the last day for payments without interest for this tax quarter to be November 13th at 4:00PM

Power Outages

The state Board of Public Utilities President has told Middletown and other municipalities that we can expect full power restoration by Saturday night, Sunday morning at the latest. We look forward to JCP&L fulfilling this promise.

Donations will go directly to residents in need of assistance as they recover from Hurricane Sandy. Donations can also be made through Paypal.

Middletown Curfew Lifted Nov 8

The curfew has been lifted for all of Middletown Township as of November 8, 2012. Please note an increased police presence will continue in areas most affected by Hurricane Sandy including Belford, Port Monmouth and Leonardo.

PBA 124 Serving Soup at Belford Engine Sat, Nov. 10, 12-3pm

PBA Local 124 will be serving soup on Saturday, November 10 from 12:00-3:00 pm at Belford Engine Firehouse located on Main Street in Belford.

Homemade soup will be prepared by our local police force for friends and neighbors to enjoy. Please visit them.

VFW Emergency Supply Distribution Center  

Residents who need clothes and other supplies can also visit VFW 2179 located at 1 Veterans Lane and Route 36 (next to Port Monmouth Foodtown) Donations are sorted and available to the public.

On Friday, Volunteers meet at Town Hall Courtroom 10 am

Buses will return volunteers to Town Hall by 3:00 p.m.

Volunteers will be taken in groups by bus to the Croydon Hall Emergency Relief Center to load supplies onto the buses and distribute them to residents in Port Monmouth, Leonardo and Belford most affected by Hurricane Sandy. Volunteers will also gather information about the most current needs of residents from those who wish to provide it.

Croydon Hall Comfort Station

The Croydon Hall Comfort Station located at 900 Leonardville Road will be open today, November 8th through 6:00 p.m., and Friday, November 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Residents in need of cleaning supplies, food, or clothes can come to Croydon Hall today, November 8th until 4pm, and on Friday, November 9th from 10:00 am to 4:00 p.m. Additional dates and times will be announced

Mandatory Evacuation Lifted, Curfew in Effect

The Emergency Management Office advises that the mandatory evacuation order has been lifted. Residents can return to the area. Those with an with an "X" on any of their structures, should call the Building Department at 732-615-2104 for further information.

Garbage Collection

Garbage collection has been cancelled for Thursday Nov 8 due to blocked roads, trees and down wires

Landmarks Commission Meeting Cancelled

The Thursday, November 8th Landmarks Commission meeting has been cancelled.

Landmark Commission meetings are generally held the second Thursday of each month at the Middletown Library, 55 New Monmouth Road, at 7:30 p.m. Call 732-615-2015 for more information.

Hurricane Sandy Free Legal Services

MICHAEL T. WARSHAW, ESQ. a member of Zager Fuchs, PC counselors at law, will be providing free legal services for those in need regarding: insurance issues (flood/wind), damages covered or excluded, business interruption, landlord/tenant issues, FEMA questions.

Mr. Warshaw will be available at Middletown Township Public Library on Saturday, November 10th from 9-12 noon. Call the library at 732 671-3700 ext. 311. Other appointments will be available.
