Disaster Planning Information Session for Seniors Thursday

The session comes nearly a year after the anniversary of Superstorm Sandy

A storm preparedness program for seniors will be presented Thursday at the Middletown Senior Center at 1 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Seniors Taking on Readiness Measures (STORM) is emergency preparedness information borne out of the experience of Hurricane Irene and Sandy, when officials realized that many people did not have a family disaster plan and emergency kit.

The program will be presented by the Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden and Mike Oppegaard, Office of Emergency Management Coordinator.
