Engineer: Trinity Hall Wouldn't Cause Traffic Failure Conditions on Chapel Hill Road

The plans call for a 75-foot left-turn lane and widening of the road, according to reports.

Trinity Hall traffic engineers returned to the Middletown Township Planning Board last Wednesday with a revised traffic plan for campus proposed at 320 Chapel Hill Road.

The plan calls for widening a section of Chapel Hill Road from 22 feet to 36 feet and adding a 75-foot-long left-turn lane along the road, according to an APP.com report.

Engineers said a second traffic study showed the road would not reach failure conditions on Chapel Hill Road, the report said.

The all-girls school currently occupies space at Croydon Hall but is looking to expand onto 64 acres near Kings Highway East. Some 37.75 acres of the property would be developed.

Under the new plan, the school increased the number of proposed parking spots to 329 from 229 because of neighbors' concerns of on-street parking, according to app.com.

The complex requires preliminary and final major site plan approval by the planning board. The hearing will continue on March 19.
