Explosives Training at NWS Earle This Week

This week the Transportation Security Administration will hold explosives and explosives effects training at Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Earle.

Students receive a few hours of classroom training and are then taken to the range, where they are shown demonstrations of different types of explosives and the effects of their detonation, said spokesman Michael K. Brady.

Explosives demonstration training is held about four times a year by The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team at NWS Earle.

The detonations are planned for the afternoon hours, but weather conditions may dictate scheduling them for the morning on some days, Brady said, who asked residents to not be alarmed if they hear detonations.
