Middletown Dogs Invited To Free Rabies Clinic, Registration

The annual census of the dogs is now taking place. The clinic is on Jan. 12.

On Saturday, Jan. 12 Middletown Township will hold a free rabies clinic for dogs only from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Croydon Hall in Leonardo. 

Residents can also acquire or renew dog licenses at that time. 

According to information on the township Health Dept. website, all dog licenses expire on December 31st of each year and are renewable by January 31st of each year.  A late fee will be charged for each dog license that is not renewed by January 31st of the licensing year.

The fees for licenses were updated in August, 2012. The fee for altered pets is $16.00 (proof must be provided), and un-altered is $21.00.

Starting February 1, 2012 a $5.00 late fee is now to be added to the cost of the license. A progressive $2.00 fee is assessed each month starting in March. So a late fee of $7.00 is charged on March 1st, $9.00 on April 1stand so on.

Penalty for violation of the Dog Statutes may result in a fine of not more than $50.00 for the first offense.

The Health Department located at Croydon Hall, 900 Leonardville Rd., Leonardo.  Dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier.
