UPDATE: Speed Restrictions on Garden State Parkway, New Jersey Turnpike

The speed limit on the Turnpike has been reduced to 45 miles per hour, while the speed limit on the Parkway is 35 because of inclement weather.

UPDATE: As of 11:12 a.m., the speed restriction on the Garden State Parkway due to road conditions has been changed to 45 miles an hour between Cape May and the New York State Line in Montvale. The restriction on the New Jersey Turnpike remains unchanged.

ORIGINAL: A Winter Storm system moving through New Jersey has resulted in speed restrictions being put in place on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority announced.

As of 8 a.m., there's a speed restriction in place on the New Jersey Turnpike in both directions from the Delaware Memorial Bridge in Pennsville to the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 miles an hour due to snow related activity.

As of 8:28 a.m., there's a speed restriction in place on the Garden State Parkway in both directions from south of Exit 117 in Hazlet to the New York State Line in Montvale. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 miles an hour due to road conditions.
