M'town Schools: 6 Resigned, 4 Retired

All resignations cite personal reasons for leaving

Readying the final version of the proposed $149.7 million Middletown was not the only thing on the this week. Ten resignations and retirements of teachers and other staffers were approved.

Rumors about sudden teacher resignations have been swirling lately. But, beyond the lists provided by the board on its agenda, officials have not offered comments nor have they answered queries about any of the as of yet unsubstantiated theories.

They only reiterate that personnel matters are prohibited from being discussed in a public forum.

Four retirements and six resignations are listed, showing the effective dates of the actions. Of all the resignations cite “personal reasons” for the decisions.

• Linda Runyon-McIlwraith, start date Oct. 1, 1986, secretary, Athletics, effective July 1, 2012.

• Roseann Scibetta, start date, Sept. 1, 1999, language arts, , effective July 1, 2012.

Approval of resignations:

• Linda M. Avena, paraprofessional, Fairview, for personal reasons, effective March 17, 2012.

• Susan Dudek, paraprofessional, HS North, for personal reasons, effective Feb. 27, 2012.

•  Harry Parker, sub custodian, for personal reasons, effective March 2, 2012.

• Daniel Padilla, science, HS South, for personal reasons, effective March 13, 2012.

•  Peter Rathjen, substitute teacher, for personal reasons, effective Feb. 27, 2012.

• Daniel Zykorie, social worker, , for personal reasons, effective March 31, 2012
