Abby-White began her career as a teacher in Middletown after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Ohio Wesleyan University. During the course of her career, she transitioned from being a teacher in 1986 at Bayshore Middle School to teaching technology to sales professionals around the globe.

Abby-White said she decided to apply for the vacant position on Brookdale’s Board of Trustees because she wanted to re-engage in the community and had been looking for options.

"People at all ages want to be relevant – whether they are a high school student or a college graduate; someone starting a career or reinventing themselves for a new one,” said Abby-White. “Brookdale is a great place for people to start or restart to achieve their educational goals and I am honored to serve with the leadership team."

As much as teaching is a part of who she is, so is public service. She served as president of Henry Hudson Board of Education for seven years, councilwoman of the Borough of Atlantic Highlands for three years, and is the founder of the Atlantic Highlands Youth Commission.

Abby-White and her husband Richard A. White Sr., retired Chief of Police of Monmouth Beach, have adult triplet daughters, Brittney, Kierstyn and Ashton and two sons, Chris and Rich Jr.
