Athlete of the Week:  Jazmine Davis, Girls Basketball, Monmouth Regional High School

Davis played a pivotal role in each of Monmouth Regional’s past two wins, leading her Falcons to victory over both Freehold Boro and the Matawan Huskies last week.

In the home win over Boro on Jan. 3, Davis led all scorers with 14. Three days earlier in the Falcons’ game against Matawan, Davis recorded ten points, falling just short of teammate Georgina Hook’s game-high 14 points.

The Falcons are currently 5-2 after losing their first two games of the season and subsequently ripping off five straight victories. Their next challenge comes in the form of Neptune High School on Jan. 9.

Upcoming Game to Watch: Old Bridge @ Red Bank Regional – Ice Hockey, Jan. 10

The Bucs of Red Bank Regional have been on quite a tear of late, as they haven’t suffered a loss since their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Rumson-Fair Haven nearly a month ago.

Since then, Regional’s varsity ice hockey team has racked up impressive wins against the likes of Parsippany, Marlboro, Jackson Liberty, and Ocean Township. The Bucs will take the ice against Old Bridge High School at 2:45 pm on Jan. 10.
