Middletown Board of Education Approves New Hires

The Middletown Board of Education approved new hires including a new principal Tuesday night.

The Middletown Township Board of Education approved new 18 hires and the appointment of a new principal for Fairview School Tuesday at its meeting at the Middletown High School North Library.

  • Linda M. Waldron Ed.S was appointed as Principal of Fairview School at a pro-rated salary of $106,252 once she is released from her present employment, which does take place until September 30.

However, Waldron will be present on the first day of school on September 10 at Fairview to welcome students and meet parents but she will not begin as principal until she is released from her current position as Wemrock Brook’s Assistant Principal.

In between this time, Matthew Kirkpatrick will remain as principal and will transfer to Thompson Middle School once Waldron takes his former position of Fairview School Principal.

  • For the position of Special Education Teacher at Thompson Middle School, the Board agreed to hire Molly Ahern to begin on September 1at at an annual salary of $52,070.  Ahern has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgian Court University. Her certification is teacher of students with disabilities.
  • To replace Middletown High School South Guidance Counselor, Kelly Crist was hired at a pro-rated salary of $63,580. Crist, a Rider University graduate with a Master’s degree, will begin on September 1 and end her position on December 14, 2012.
  • To replace Middletown High School North Business teacher, the board unanimously agreed to hire Lauren D’Amico at a pro-rated salary of $52,070. D’Amico received her a Bachelor of Arts degree from Monmouth University.  She will begin on September 1 and end her position on January 29, 2013.
  • Amanda Dilger was hired to be the replacement first grade teacher at the Lincroft Elementary School beginning on September 18 and ending on December 31, 2012 at a pro-rated salary of $52,070. Dilger, a Georgian Court University, holds a certification in Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-5 (CEAS).
  • For the position of fifth grade teacher at Nutswamp Elementary School, Katherine N. Ferrari was hired to begin September 1 at an annual salary of $52,070. Ferrari, a Monmouth University graduate, holds a certification in Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-5 (CEAS).
  • For the position of Special Education, Autism Teacher, Danielle Fitzgerald was approved by the Board to begin on September 1 with an annual salary of $52,720. Fitzgerald, a Caldwell College graduate, holds a Teacher of the Handicapped certification.
  • To replace a first grade teacher at Nutswamp School from October 1 through April 30, 2013, the Board approved Kristen Gilmore at a pro-rated salary of $52,070. A Rider University graduate, she holds an Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-5 certification.
  • Whitney E. High was hired as Music Teacher for Fairview/Ocean Schools beginning on September 1. High, a Lebanon Valley College, hold a Teacher of Music certification and will be paid $52,070 salary for the year.
  • To replace a third grade teacher at River Plaza from September 1 through December 14, 2012, Jaclyn A. Klask was hired by the Board at a pro-rated salary of $52, 720. A University of Delaware graduate, she has an Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-5 certification.
  • Jacqueline Mazza will begin September 1 as the new art teacher of Middletown High School South. Mazza, a Monmouth University graduate, holds of Teacher of Art certification and will be begin at a salary of $17,924.80, 34 percent of the full-time salary of $52,720.
  • For the position of High School North Technology teacher, Peter S. Milnes was approved by the Board to begin on September 1 at a salary of $52,070. Milnes, an Excelsior College graduate, holds a Teacher of Technology Education (CE) certification.
  • For the position of fifth grade teacher at New Monmouth Elementary School, Bernard J. Polakoski was approved by the Board to begin on September 1 at a $52,070 salary. Polakoski, an Edinboro University, holds an Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-5 certification.
  • To replace a first grade teacher at River Plaza School, Billie A. Quinn was hired by the Board at a pro-rated salary of $52,070. Quinn will begin on September 1 and end on December 15, 2012. Quinn, a Pennsylvania State graduate, holds an Elementary School Teacher certification.
  • To replace a fourth grade teacher at Nutswamp Elementary School, Briana Sarapochillo was approved by the Board to begin on September 1 and end on January 31, 2013 at a pro-rated salary of $52,070.  Sarapochillo, a Ramapo College graduate, has a certification as of Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-5.
  • George Turner will begin on September 1 as the Special Education of Middletown High School South with an annual salary of $52,070. Turner a University of Tampa graduate holds a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (CE) certification.
  • To replace a second grade teacher at Fairview Elementary School, Jill A. Wisialko was approved by the Board to begin on October 8 at a pro-rated salary of $55,430. Wisialko, a University of Delaware graduate, has her certification as an Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-5 (CEAS).
  • For the position of special education teacher at Middletown High School North, Christine M. Young was approved by the Board to begin on September 1 at a salary of $55,450. Young, a Georgian Court University graduate, has a Teacher of the Handicapped certification.
  • For the position of Business teacher at Middletown High School South, Susanne Zoda was hired to begin on September 1 at an annual salary of $63,580. Zoda has Master of Business Administration from Farleigh Dickinson University and holds a Teacher of General Business and Teacher of Bookkeeping & Accounting (CE) certification.
