Municipal buildings and schools throughout Middletown are closed Friday due to the winter storm impacting the area.
Town hall and the Middletown library are closed for the day, according to a post made early Friday morning on the township website.
District officials announced Thursday evening that all Middletown public schools will be closed on Friday.
The message announcing the closures was posted to the district website as the area braced for snow.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning from 6 p.m. Thursday through 1 p.m. Friday. Between 4 and 6 inches of snow are expected, beginning with rain or rain or snow this evening before changing to all snow later.
Garbage and recycling for Friday also has been canceled, according to the township.
Residents are asked only to use 911 in emergency situations.
