Middletown Schools Powered Up for Start

Pre-kindergarten orientation scheduled today with classes beginning on Wednesday.

The lights are on in Middletown's 17 public schools, students are in the classrooms and it's time to let the learning begin.

A little more than a week after Hurricane Irene's wrath left portions of the the district's schools are back online and ready to welcome K-12 students and teachers as scheduled today, according to the district web site.

All students, except pre-kindergartners, are to report to class at their assigned schools for full-day sessions. School buses will operate as scheduled.

Pre-kindergartners and their parents or guardians are invited to meet their teachers and classmates during orientations set for today at their assigned schools. Morning session students will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and afternoon session students will meet from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The first day of pre-kindergarten will be tomorrow as scheduled at all assigned schools.
