Middletown to Vote on $32M Referendum

The school district anticipates $12.9 million in state funding, which would otherwise not be available if the referendum is voted down.

A $32.2 million referendum on school improvements will be on the ballot in Middletown on Tuesday.

The district anticipates receiving $12.9 million in state funding, which it would not receive if the referendum is voted down. The remaining $19.3 million would be funded by a local bond.

The project would include upgrades to the heating systems at the high schools and middle schools and roof replacement at the high schools and middle schools, as well as Bayview, Fairview, Leonardo, Lincroft, Middletown Village, Navesink, New Monmouth, Nut Swamp, Ocean Avenue and River Plaza elementary schools.

Voting on the referendum will take place from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.
