What to do at the beach this weekend

Looking to get escape down to the beach this weekend? The threat of clouds and rain may dampen beach fun , but if you have to come in off the sand, there's plenty of things to do and places to go.

Check out some of this weekend's best bets: 

EVENTS

Celebrate New Jersey wineries at the second annual  at the home of the Lakewood Blueclaws baseball team, FirstEnergy Park, Lakewood. The festival will feature tastings from 10 state wineries, live music, crafters, vendors, food and more. The festival is from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the gate for adults 21 and older. Advance tickets can be purchased by visiting the Blueclaws' website or calling 732-901-7000.

The 22nd annual Point Pleasant Borough  will feature rides, games, food, music and much more from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Bridge Avenue and Beaver Dam Road. The festival also will serve as a collection point for  on behalf of Move for Hunger, a nonprofit group.

History comes alive at in Wall Township, where a will be staged from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
