Shore Flick Releases Local Movie Schedule

Shore Flicks announced its free summer movie series schedule which includes showings in Atlantic Highlands and Middletown.

Shore Flicks has announced the 2012 free Summer Movie Series schedule which includes 60 nights of movies in 19 towns throughout Monmouth County.

This year's series features family classics and favorites like ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ and ‘Ghostbusters’ as well as recent releases like ‘Zookeeper’ and ‘Hugo’. The season will kick off on Thursday, June 14 at Harbor Park in Atlantic Highlands with a screening of ‘The Muppets’. Towns participating in this summer's series are Asbury Park, Red Bank, Middletown, Atlantic Highlands, Holmdel, Hazlet, Keyport, Fair Haven, Tinton Falls, Ocean, Eatontown, Oceanport, Manalapan, Marlboro, Matawan, Howell, Neptune, Spring Lake, and Allenhurst.

“Our goal is to bring back the outdoor family movie experience by echoing the nostalgic feel of the drive-in movie theater, which was invented in New Jersey,” said Shore Flicks owner TJ Brustowicz.

While audiences enjoy the movies, each movie night Shore Flicks will be collecting non-perishable food items to be distributed to food banks and pantries throughout the area, aiming to surpass last year's total of 1000 pounds of food collected. This year, the Shore Flicks Free Summer Movie Series will also support two local charities, Clean Ocean Action and Kick Cancer Overboard. In addition, during the series, Shore Flicks will showcase the music video “Kindness Boomerang,” produced by the non-profit organization Life Vest Inside. Shot in downtown Red Bank, “Kindness Boomerang” illustrates the broader impact of one random act of kindness, according to Brustowicz.

Movies will begin about 30 minutes after sundown and are shown on Shore Flicks' 16-foot screen. Movie nights are free of charge for both audiences and towns due to the many local sponsers and businesses Shore Flicks has. For more information, please visit www.shoreflicks.com.
