This weekend in Middletown, temperatures are forecasted to reach the upper 80s and there is a chance of thunderstorms. Whether you pass the time indoors or outdoors, there is plenty to do right here in town.

Middletown’s Comic Con

will be holding its own. Talk to artists and learn how you can create comics during the event from 1-4 p.m. Costumes welcome.  Prizes will be given out courtesy of The Hobby Shop.

On the Water Drop-In with Thompson Park Canoe Rentals

The will offer canoes to paddle on Marlu Lake in Thompson Park, Lincroft on Saturday - Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All equipment is provided but only limited number of canoes available. Fee is $15 per boat. A boat can hold up to three people for two hours. Cash or check only. For more information call (732) 842-4000, ext. 4312.

Car Wash for Impact OASIS at Applebee's Middletown

, a Middletown High School South senior with autism, will be holding a Car Wash for the OASIS (Ongoing Autistic Success in Society) Trail Center at the Applebee’s in Middletown starting at 9 a.m. There will also be a mini gift auction with gift cards and small baskets donated by local businesses. Tickets will be pulled on July 21 at 10:15 a.m. following the Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser for OASIS at Applebee's Middletown.  Tickets for the breakfast are $10, and $7 of every ticket goes directly to OASIS.

Community Fossil Hunt

Wander through Poricy Brook on a search for fossils. For $8 per person or $32 for a family consisting of two adults and three children, will provide you with a trowel and sifter as well as identify participants’ findings. Sandals and slip-on footwear is prohibited. Registration is required. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Participants are asked to meet at the Poricy Brook Nature Center beginning at 3p.m. For more information visit www.poricypark.org/programsspecialevents.html
