Hitting The High Notes With Musician Jeanne Marie Guijarro

Middletown, N.J. - Jeanne Marie Guijarro, a Middletown resident and graduate of Raritan High School, Hazlet, has recently opened Jeanne Marie Guijarro Piano & Keyboard Instruction. Guijarro is a seasoned musician with over 13 years of professional teaching experience. She was educated at Brookdale Community College and Manhattan College, where she majored in Elementary and Special Education, and has perfected her teaching expertise at Bayshore Music Center and Red Bank Academy of Arts. Guijarro is also a staff instructor at Rock'n Music Academy, Middletown, where she has attracted a loyal following since February of 2011.
Services offered by the business include site reading, musical theory and history, recital preparation, performance consulting, song writing and arranging, and ear training. Jeanne Marie is available for private tutoring, lessons and in-home instruction on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The telephone number is (732) 771-5065.
The lifelong musican, who used to sing with a little plastic microphone as a youngster at family gatherings and has cheerfully admitted, "I've always had a song in my heart and head," brings her infectious passion for music to people of all ages including children, teenagers, and adults from beginner to advanced. "Music is everything to me, and I want to bring that joy to others," Guijarro noted.  In particular, she is especially fond of children and easily bonds with them. "I love teaching and especially enjoy the energy that children bring to the classroom. Each and every day I get to see the bonds of happiness that music creates," she added.
While Guijarro believes in the lasting and timeless beauty of classical music, she also emphasizes other forms of music and wants her students to be up-to-date on current trends. She encourages her students to pursue what they are interested in, to learn the popular pieces of the day, and also to express emotion. "While stellar performances are always a goal, I want to see all of my students enjoying themselves. For me, teaching is about having fun and conveying a sense of happiness. The best musicians bring emotion and passion into their performances, and I want to help my students develop something they can get excited about. I would say one of my best qualities as a teacher is my unique ability to do that," Guijarro offered.
Guijarro is also available to play at special events and fundraisers and is very supportive of local charities, especially the New Jersey Blind Citizens Association in Leonardo and the Middletown Lions Club, where her business has sponsored several events.
