The Week Ahead: Middletown 350 Gala, Time Capsule Burial and Parade

Events in Middletown, NJ this week to mark on your calendar, including the big Middletown 350 celebration Friday and Saturday. 

Monday, June 16: 

8 p.m.: Middletown Township Committee Meeting. Agenda and meeting documents.
7:30  p.m.: Sewerage Authority Meeting in the Authority's building on Center Street.

Tuesday, June 17: 
The Bayshore Family Success Center, a branch of 
The Community YMCA, is hosting a Sandy Survivor Resource Fair with government agencies, social service groups and 13 vendors. From 5-8 p.m. at the Middletown Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Rd.

7 pm Environmental Committee Meeting at Town Hall

Friday, June 20: 
7-11 p.m.: Middletown 350 Anniversary Gala. Formal evening at the Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church St. Tickets are $85 and include two glasses of wine or beer, dinner, dancing, a preview of the Middletown 350 Time Capsule, casino tables, and more than more 30 prizes donated by local businesses. Tickets can be purchased at www.midletownarts.org or in person at the Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church Street. Call 732-706-4100 for details.

Saturday, June 11: 
Celebrate Middletown's birthday at family-friendly event featuring a parade, the burying of the Time Capsule, entertainment, and more. Free. 

Parade begins at Middletown High School North,  63 Tindall Road, at 11 a.m. and ends at the Middletown Arts Center. Marchers continue 1.6 miles along Tindall Road and across Route 35 into the oldest section of township, Middletown Village. The parade then continues along historic Kings Highway and down Church Street to Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church Street. On-line parade registration is closed. Call 732-615-2260 for information.

After the parade, a brief ceremony will be held on the lawn adjacent to the Middletown Arts Center to mark the burial of Middletown 350 Time Capsule. The ceremony is part of the Time Capsule Celebration.  

Free parking for the Time Capsule celebration will be available in the main parking lot at the Middletown Train Station. The parade route will also be closed to traffic during the parade.
