I bought a dog from this pet store 3 years ago...I should have known better than to buy a dog from a pet store but I foolishly went in with my kids so out we went with a very cute puppy - all puppies are cute. Our dog didn't have "health" problems but she does not really conform to the breed specifications. She's overly hyper and excited - she cannot calm down when people are over to the point she will urinate on the floor when anyone says hello to her. She has been to a trainer too. She's a nice dog but certainly has issues because of her breeding or better said inbreeding. She should have a short coat - but its longer for her breed and she is not the size she should be either. Aside from the multitude of serious health issues, poor quality of the breed is what you can expect from a pet store - who buys dogs from a broker who in turn buys dogs from poor quality breeders or puppy mills. I got caught up in the cuteness but next time do the research and find a reputable breeder and trust me you will save on the price of the pet too - at least two times the cost you spend at a pet store because the overhead the store has to cover from the broker is a lot. Dana is nice and I believe a dog lover too. But its a business people. These dogs are not top quality and she knows it. Go to a breeder. You will be happier with the end result - far more than going to a pet store!

I just went into the Pet Shop yesterday for the first time. I drive buy everyday and always wanted to stop in . Well i finally did yesterday and it was a wonderful experience for me. I went in to just look, and ended up coming home with the most beautiful little Maltipoo puppy I have ever seen. Dana the owner could not have been nicer and more helpful. I was in the store wondering for over two hours asking one thousand questions which Dana answered with a smile. It was a pleasure to do business there. And I just came back from MY vet, (even though their vet was available to me and with a free visit as well) and my little puppy is to quote the Dr. " as healthy as an ox! He is chubby, sweet lovable and was very well taken care of before I purchased him. I have No regrets and would def buy another dog there again! Oh buy the way, my brother in-law came from NY and bought two totally healthy dogs from Pet Paradise 7 years ago.( the same owners). So don't believe only the bad things that you read.Lots of people just can't be satisfied sometimes. And I have never written a review before, but I had to share my experience.
Will never go into this shop again. They sell puppies that come from puppy mills and claim they are from "breeders". I wish I would have done my research before buying my puppy from them and now have a puppy that was infested with worms even though they told me she was dewormed and the dog is not well adjusted to people. To top it off they have lunatics working for them who think it is acceptable to yell at customers over the phone. Maybe they should tell Maria to remember the customer always comes first. Never been so offended and never had a worse experience buying a pet. If you go there for a pet you are making a huge mistake.

A Local Pet Store Says Its Dogs Aren't from a Mill. Is That True?
There is no legal definition of "puppy mill." Many pet store owners will tell you they get all their puppies from "licensed USDA breeders" or "local breeders." In fact, in order to sell puppies to pet stores, a breeder must be licensed by the USDA! Pet stores often use this licensing to provide a false sense of security to customers, when what it really means is that they do, in fact, get their puppies from puppy mills.
The fact is, responsible breeders would never sell a puppy through a pet store because they want to screen potential buyers to ensure that the puppies are going to good homes.
The Store's Dogs Have Papers. Does That Mean They're from Responsible Breeders?
No. Being registered or having papers means nothing more than the puppy's parents both had papers. Many registered dogs are sold in puppy mills. Don't be fooled by "papers." Many, many pedigreed dogs come from puppy mills! The only way you can be sure that a puppy came from a reputable source is to see where he or she came from yourself.
