The Port Monmouth Fire Company is station number six of the 11 volunteer fire companies that make up theMore Middletown Township Fire Department; this is one of the largest all-volunteer fire departments in the world.  

The Port Monmouth Fire Company was incorporated in November of 1922, at a meeting at Port Monmouth School. It purchased its first fire truck in 1923. Presently, the company operates three fire engines and two support vehicles, including a brush fire truck. It is equipped to respond to a variety of calls, ranging from fires to carbon monoxide alarms.

Community Fire Company is located on Appleton Avenue, between Route 36 and Leonardville Road in the Leonardo section ofMore Middletown. It is Station No. 4 of the eleven all-volunteer fire companies in the Middletown Township Fire Department. It was created in 1922 as a second fire company for Leonardo. Brevent Park & Leonardo Fire Company had been in existence for nearly two decades, serving the area well, but as the population grew, the need for more firefighters increased. Community Fire Company and Brevent Park & Leonardo Fire Company now work together to provide full coverage to the area. Community Fire Company covers inland sections of Leonardo. The company presently has three engines it uses to fight fires, including two engines and a brush truck.
Lincroft Fire Co.

Also known as Station 10 of the 11 in the Middletown Township Fire Department, Lincroft Fire Co., which wasMore founded in 1932, serves the southwestern portion of the township known as Lincroft. Due to the growing population in Lincroft, the company is now equipped with a "tower" ladder truck, a brush (fire) truck and an engine truck. Along with their brethren at River Plaza Hose Co., the firemen of Lincroft Fire Co. assist neighboring towns when the need arises; they are part of one of the largest all-volunteer fire departments in the world.
River Plaza Hose Co.

River Plaza Hose Company is Company 9 of Middletown's 11 volunteer fire companies. It was created in 1927, and wasMore the ninth fire company incorporated. Middletown's fire department is one of the largest all-volunteer fire departments in the world.

The fire station is located on Applegate Street between Carpenter and Foster Streets in the River Plaza section of Middletown. It serves the community within a several-mile radius of the station, including the neighborhoods near Navesink River and Swimming River.  

In addition to fighting fires in the local area, River Plaza Hose Company also educates the local community about fire safety and prevention.

East Keansburg Fire Co.

Also referred to as Middletown Township Fire Department Station 5, the East Keansburg Fire Co. is one of 11 fireMore companies. The East Keansburg station serves the northeasterly portion of the 42-square mile township, or what is referred to now as North Middletown. Equipped with a brush fire vehicle, two pumpers and a retired Suphen (which serves as a back-up truck), the East Keansburg Co. welcomes new volunteers and offers tips and advice on its Web site.
Belford Independent Fire Co.

The Belford Independent Fire Co. is also known as Station 7 in the Middletown Township Fire Department, which is one ofMore the largest all-volunteer fire departments in the world. It serves the Belford and New Monmouth sections of the township, from the more northern central to easterly parts of town. Equipped with a 2007 American-LaFrance aerial ladder, a 2000 Smeal Class A pumper and a brush (fire) truck, Belford Independent has roughly 30 members, 10 associate members and a ladies' auxiliary.

Middletown Fire Company No. 1, nicknamed "Headdens Corner," was founded in April 1924, and is a one of 11 companies thatMore make up Middletown Township's all-volunteer fire department. Within the department, it is station number 8 (as it was the eighth station created and incorporated.) Middletown Fire Company No. 1 is located on the south side of Route 35, between Depauw and Longwood Avenues. It serves the local area within a several mile radius of the station. The station has a variety of vehicles to help fight fires, including fire engines, such as Ladder 180, Engine 181 and Engine 182, and specialty trucks, Unit 183 and Unit 184. In addition to fighting fires, Middletown Fire Company No. 1 works to educate residents about fire safety.

Old Village Fire Company was established in 1955 making it the last of the area's 11 voluneteer fire companies to beMore created. Middletown is said to have one of the largest all-volunteer fire departments in the world. It serves an area of approximately five miles in western Middletown.  Much of this coverage area includes the busy commercial corridor along Route 35. The company has two engines and one support unit.
