One of three public middle schools in Middletown, Thompson serves students residing in the southwestern portion of theMore township. With a lion as its mascot, the school touts a motto of, "Excel, Achieve, Succeed," and has been dubbed the unofficial "flagship" school of Middletown. Middletown High School South serves a student body from a campus in the southeasterly portion of the Township.More Academic departments include: business, consumer science, English, fine arts and music, industrial technology, library, mathematics, physical education, science, special education, social studies and world languages.

High School South was founded more than three decades ago in response to a growing township population that one public high school (High School North) could not accommodate.

Bayshore Middle School

Bayshore Middle School serves about 775 public school students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades in MiddletownMore Township. It is one of three middle schools in Middletown, the other two being Thorne and Thompson Middle Schools.

Bayshore Middle School's mascot is "Echo" the dolphin and its school colors are blue and yellow. Carol Force is the principal.
