Overlooking the scenic Navesink River, the Navesink Country Club is  a private 18-hole golf course with an iceMore hockey rink, tennis courts, an outside swimming pool and a beautiful club. Established in 1963, the course has well maintained fairways and greens. The 18-hole course was designed by Hal Purdy and unveiled for golfers in 1964.

The course and club's setting is spectacular with views of the river and a beautiful wooded area which most colorful in the fall. The club hosts wedding receptions and banquets. For dining, there are ample tables and a bar, but the club is much more. There are individual areas within the club with fireplaces and couches and chairs with paintings on the wall.

Bodman Park

Bodman Park is located off of Navesink River Road, at the end of Market Street. It is bordered on the east by the HiddenMore Hollow Riding School. The Park contains playground equipment, soccer fields, baseball diamonds and basketball courts. The fields are used by the Middletown Youth Athletic Association's (MYAA) Little League. During games, the MYAA runs a concession stand.

River Plaza Hose Company is Company 9 of Middletown's 11 volunteer fire companies. It was created in 1927, and wasMore the ninth fire company incorporated. Middletown's fire department is one of the largest all-volunteer fire departments in the world.

The fire station is located on Applegate Street between Carpenter and Foster Streets in the River Plaza section of Middletown. It serves the community within a several-mile radius of the station, including the neighborhoods near Navesink River and Swimming River.  

In addition to fighting fires in the local area, River Plaza Hose Company also educates the local community about fire safety and prevention.
