Information about reorganization day from Middletown Township ... Middletown Township's Organization Day will be held at Town Hall, 1 Kings Highway, on New Year's Day, beginning at noon. On the agenda will be the swearing in of the 2012 mayor and deputy mayor. Under the township’s form of government, the Township Committee designates two members to serve as mayor and deputy mayor for a one-year term each. Committeeman Anthony P. Fiore will accept the oath of office to serve his second consecutive term as mayor. Committeewoman-elect Stephanie C. Murray will be sworn in as the newest member of the Township Committee. From Middletown Township on 9/11 ... the community that lost 37 of its residents to the attacks on the World Trade Center: In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Middletown Township is planning a trio of tributes to honor those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center tragedy. “Thanks to the support from the community, Middletown will honor the 37 residents we lost during the tragedy with a memorial service, a flag display and a juried art exhibit,” said Mayor Anthony P. Fiore. The Township will hold the memorial service on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Middletown World Trade Center Memorial Gardens, next to the Middletown Arts Center and Train Station on Church Street.
