The following information was released by the Middletown Township Police Dept. on Jan. 7, 2013. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Unless noticed, all were released pending a court date. Dec. 31, 2012: Michael Sesta, 51, of Morningside Ave. in Middletown was arrested by Ptl. Keith Hirschbein for simple assault. Gert Odendaal, 47, of Nautilus Dr. in Leonardo was arrested by Cpl. Middletown police arrested the following people recently on various charges, ranging from assault to marijuana possession: • Larry Boerner, 35, of First Street, Keyport, was arrested on May 6, by Patrolman Adam Colfer, and charged with possession of Ecstasy, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing the administration of law and resisting arrest. A Jersey City man stands accused of the aggravated assault of a Middletown woman. Mark Todd, 38, of 117 Grace Street, Jersey City, was charged with aggravated assault on March 5, according to a complaint signed by Middletown police. The complaint, filed in Monmouth County, alleges that Todd committed the second- degree crime after striking the woman “in the face with a closed fist, causing swelling and laceration to her upper lip and a loose tooth.” Todd’s bail was $10,000, with a 10 percent option, set by Judge Richard Thompson. He is scheduled to appear in Middletown Township Municipal Court on March 25. Whether or not Todd is in custody was not specified in the complaint. Accident on Cooper Road in October sent three to the hospital
The driver in a serious single-vehicle October accident in the Navesink section of Middletown has been indicted on assault by auto and related charges. The Oct. 7 Cooper Road accident that landed Charles Chapman, 44, of 34 Monmouth Avenue, in the Leonardo section of Middletown, and his passengers in the hospital with serious injuries, now has Chapman indicted on the following charges: aggravated assault, two counts of assault by auto, causing serious bodily injury while driving unlicensed, and operating a vehicle during a period of license suspension charges, the indictment from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said.
