St. Baldrick's event raises money for children's cancer research
Come "shave it" wih the Shillelagh's on Saturday, Oct. 6, for their annual St. Baldrick's event, which raises money for children's cancer research, organizers said. The organization will be raising money and encouraging supporters to shave their heads to honor children fighting cancer. The event begins at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, 815 16th Avenue, in Belmar. This year's event will honor Madison Grace Beggs, a Howell resident who lost her battle with brain cancer just last summer, organizers said. "Madi" was diagnosed in August 2010 at the age of 10 and after a 22-month-long battle that included several operations to remove the tumors, she unfortunately passed on June 22.
