Lions Roar Past Braves in 56-55 Nailbiter

With only 3 seconds to go in Wednesday's basketball game, Middletown North's Jason Huelbig fired home the final shot to give the Lions a 56-55 victory over the visiting Manalapan Braves. As Kyle Rubbinaccio's last second shot hit the rim and bounced away, Lions fans rushed the court in celebration. John Martens, of Middletown, and Anthony Firkser, of Manalapan, shared the game-high, both posting 23 point games. Jason Huelbig added 15 for the Lions, including the game-winner. The Braves jumped out to a 17-9 lead in the first quarter, and were up 34-29 at halftime. Manalapan hit five 3-pointers in the first half.
