Newark Mayor Cory Booker, who increasingly finds himself on the national political stage, has a decision to make: run for governor or run for U.S. Senate? Booker, 43, said he's considering both, and will make a decision in the next two weeks, according to the Huffington Post. Speculation has swirled that Booker would seek higher office as his political star starts to shine brighter. Party officials gave him a coveted speaking spot at this year's Democratic National Convention and moves such as living off of the same allotment as food stamp recipients for a week garnered national attention. Gov. Chris Christie will seek a second term as New Jersey's governor. He made the announcement during an appearance at a press conference at the Port Monmouth Fire Dept. Monday afternoon. Christie declined to talk in detail about his bid, saying he is saving that for a more formal announcement in January. But he did say he sought the advice of his wife, Mary Pat, and four children, over the Thanksgiving Day weekend, and got their blessing. New Jersey governor said 11,000 utility workers remain in state, set to respond to any damage brought by storm.
A nor’easter set to strike New Jersey Wednesday may cool the state’s post-Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts for a time, Gov. Chris Christie warned. “We may take a setback in the next 24 hours. You need to be prepared for that,” Christie said during a press conference at Long Beach Island Wednesday morning. Power outages may increase during the storm, which is set to bring a heavy, wet snow and wind gusts as high as 55 mph to the state. However, the governor was hopeful the pause in recovery efforts would be brief. The state Senate approved a 2013 referendum on raising the minimum wage and tying it to yearly increases
A proposal to raise the state's minimum wage could bypass Gov. Chris Christie and go directly to voters. During Monday's Senate hearings, Senate President Steve Sweeney of Gloucester County received preliminary support for a resolution calling for a constitutional amendment to allow for an increased minimum wage and tie future yearly increases to national economic data. The initiative would be placed on the 2013 ballot for voter approval. Sweeney's proposal, which was approved by committee 7-6, would effectively remove Christie from the approval process. In a speech that was both biographical and also touched upon the Republicans' vision for the nation, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was in the limelight Tuesday as he delivered the keynote address at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. And state delegates who were in the St. Pete Times Forum who listened to his speech said the governor struck just the right tone in making his case for presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Governor says he never wanted to be vice president during stop on Asbury Park boardwalk
Gov. Chris Christie on Monday wouldn't give a preview of his keynote address for next week's GOP convention, but did say why he thought he was chosen for the distinction. "I think the reason I was picked is because of the job I'm doing here," Christie said during his stop at the Asbury Park boardwalk near Convention Hall to promote the Jersey Shore. Several polls indicate that he is a strong choice, especially among people in the Northeast, but will the governor's temperament alienate voters across the country?
Speculation is running high on who Mitt Romney will pick for his vice president. And it appears that NJ Gov. Chris Christie is high on the list. Several polls show former Secretary of State Condeleeza Rice, rival Rick Santorum and Gov. Christie as voter favorites to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Also among consideration, is Florida Sen. Marco Rubio. A Quinnipiac poll showed Christie as the lead choice. According to another poll, it's already a tight race between Obama and Romney, who have hit the campaign trail to woo voters. Could the ticket of Romney and Christie give the GOP hopeful the edge he needs to beat the incumbent president? What do you think?

Governor holds town hall meeting in Brick Township
Gov. Chris Christie vowed to "kick (legislators') rear ends" to get New Jersey residents a tax cut during a town hall meeting Tuesday in Brick.
