Man Allegedly Tried to Steal Car, Disarm Middletown Police Officer
A Lake Como man was indicted on six counts related to a burglary in Middletown Township.
A grand jury in Freehold voted to indict Frederick Best, 26, of Lake Como on charges allegedly committed in Middletown on Oct. 26. The six charges include breaking into a home and stealing a car. He is also accused by police of of failure to heed a patrol car's signal to pull over, an attempt to disarm a Middletown law enforcement officer, aggravated assault on the officer, and resisting arrest. The grand jury's decision Tuesday was based on evidence presented by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, and it is not a conviction.
