The defendants are charged with heroin possession, failure to register a home improvement business, theft of an ATV and burglary in Keyport.
After considering evidence presented by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, a grand jury in Freehold last week agreed that there is enough evidence to formally charge the following defendants and require them to respond to charges. But an indictment is not a finding of guilt or a conviction, and all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.

A grand jury has weighed evidence and decided that three Middletown residents should stand trial on various charges. Amanda Wenninger, 23, of Main Street in Port Monmouth and Sean Dickey, 40, of Daniel Drive were indicted Wednesday on a charge of possessing "heroin and/or cocaine" on May 17, 2012. Kyle Clayton, 20 of Ironwood Court was indicted on Jan. 3 on three charges dating to July 20 and 21 at Ogden Court: that he threatened to kill another person, that he knowingly used criminal restraint and exposed the person to risk of bodily injury, and that he was in possession of methalone, an illegal drug. Anthony Purcell, 38, of Claudedon Court in Middletown has been indicted on charges of sexual assault of a 16-year old minor. The incident allegedly occurred on Feb. 27 in Ocean Township. The Monmouth County's Grand Jury vote to indict Purcell on Sept. 28 is a formal charge, not a conviction.

Samuel Mitchell of Middletown was formally charged by a grand jury in Freehold today.
A Grand Jury in Freehold handed down an indictment against a Middletown man accused of sexual crimes against a minor under his care. Samuel Mitchell, 44, of Middletown was charged by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office with five counts related to the crimes which they say occurred between Sept. 29, 2007 and April 23, 2012 in Middletown and/or Keansburg. The charges include sexual assault, alleged to have occurred when the victim under his care was less than 13 years old. They also include aggravated criminal sexual contact and two counts of sexual assault, alleged to have occurred when the minor was between 13 and 16; as well as one count of endangering the welfare of a child. Two Middletown residents were indicted following an April arrest in Atlantic Highlands.
A Monmouth County grand jury indicted two Middletown residents on multiple charges surrounding an April drug arrest. Jasen Silver, 20, and Lenore Silver, 46, both of Karyn Terrace West were arrested and charged with obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud. Jasen was also indicted on additional charges of forgery, and uttering a forged instrument. According to the indictment, both Lenore and Jasen obtained oxycodone fraudulently through misrepresentation. The indictment did not specify how the duo allegedly misrepresented themselves to get the drugs.
