House Fire In East Keansburg Saturday

Black smoke could be seen for miles away. The Middletown Township FIre Dept. responded to the scene and extinguished the flames.

Middletown firefighters responded to a house fire at 66 Carter Avenue, off Thompson Avenue in the East Keansburg section on Saturday.  There were no injuries reported. According to public property records, 66 Carter Avenue is a 2,300 square foot house built in 2002, and it is owned by Michael and Jacqueline Marotta. The fire was reported at 2:27 p.m. Department Chief John D’Altilio organized the response by approximately 45 firefighters from East Keansburg, Port Monmouth, Belford Engine and Community Fire Companies. Deputy Chief Peter Laimann observed heavy smoke and fire coming from the single story structure upon his arrival and immediately requested additional resources, said fire department spokesman John Isaksen.  The firefighters …

Update: House Fire On Cherry Tree Farm Road in Middletown

About 45 firefighters from several companies responded. One was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion injuries, and a dog died in the fire.

  Middletown Township firefighters responded to a  "fully involved" house fire at 127 Cherry Tree Farm Road in the New Monmouth section at 1:56 p.m. Friday. One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion injuries, said Fire Department spokesman John Isaksen. The Port Monmouth Fire Company volunteer was taken to to Riverview Medical Center by the Fairview First Aid Squad. Firefighters discovered a dog inside the house that apparently perished in the fire, Isaksen reported Saturday.  The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Monmouth County Fire Marshall’s office and the Middletown Township Fire Prevention Bureau.  Department Chief John D’Altilio commanded the scene where approximately 45 firefighters from four companies were on …
