On March 29, 2013 the Middletown Police Det. Bureau and Quality of Life Unit executed a search warrant at a Kolas Court residence. The warrant execution was the result of a month long investigation conducted by Det. Kevin Gardiner and Officers Richard Fulham and Anthony Bumbico regarding the sale of marijuana from the residence. The warrant resulted in the arrest of Nicholas Squicciarini, 21, of Kolas Court in Middletown was for possession of marijuana, possession of over one ounce of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of hash, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. Middletown Police executed a search warrant at an apartment complex in Maguire’s Grove off Route 35 South, near the Union Square shopping center. Police arrested Joshua Lindner, 20, of Kimberly Court on Wednesday, charging him with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of public housing, possession of ecstasy and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lindner was held on $25,000 bail with no 10% option set by Judge John Mullaney of the Monmouth County Superior Court. UPDATE: William Williams, 48, of Roop Ave. in Leonardo was arrested by Ptl. Thomas Hughes on March 4 and charged with DWI, according to police on March 11. UPDATE on the Woodland Drive accident from Middletown Police Dept. Stephen Dollinger at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 6: Scott Orgonas, 47 of Middletown was charged with DWI after a car he was driving crashed at Woodland Dr near the intersection of Twinbrooks Ave. on March 4, 2013 at 5:48 pm. Orgonas was traveling westbound in a 1988 Ford Mustang on Woodland Drive when he lost control of the vehicle, striking the curb and a telephone pole. Stephen Dollinger, March 6 at 2:45 pm.: Ricardo Diaz, 60, of Eatontown was charged with DWI in the crash that occurred on Swimming River Road and Colonial Way at 7:26 p.m. on March 5. Diaz was driving a 2012 Ford wagon on Swimming River Rd, when for an unknown reason he crossed over the center line, causing a Land Rover operated by Kevin Normayle of Colts Neck, traveling in the opposite direction, to strike his car. Diaz’s vehicle continued striking a tree on Swimming River Rd. Diaz was treated at the scene by the Lincroft First Aid Squad and transported to Jersey Shore Trauma Center for treatment. Two men were indicted Tuesday on charges of drug possession in Middletown Township on Sept. 4, according to court documents. Jonathan C. Myers, 34, of Puffin Glade in Bayville will stand trial on heroin possession charges. James Wareham, 27, of Nantucket Rd. in Forked River will answer in court to charges of heroin/cocaine possession. The grand jury's decision to indict is a formal charge, not a conviction. The charges are third degree offenses, punishable by a potential 3-5 year prison sentence if convicted.

Two Port Monmouth residents residing at different addresses on Pinehurst Avenue, have been indicted by a grand jury on drug charges. Lauren Watson, 22, and Robert Backovsky, 22, will stand trial on charges that they were in possession of heroin and methandrostenolone (an anabolic steroid) on Sept. 15. They were arrested on that date by Middletown Police. Pinehurst is a residential street near the junction of Wilson Avenue and Main Street. Both are third degree crimes. A third degree crime may result in 3-5 years if a defendant is convicted on a charge. The grand jury's decision is not a conviction; it is a formal charge. The defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
