MJ's Karaoke Night in Middletown: Way More Fun Than I Expected

So maybe it's not American Idol, but pretty darn entertaining, with some real surprises.

I have to admit, my friends and I didn’t have high expectations for Thursday night's Karaoke Night with friends at MJ’s Pizza Bar & Grill, on Route 35 North in Middletown. When we arrived at 7:30 p.m., we found ourselves among a middle-aged-and-older crowd. Scanning the packed bar, there were no younger people to be found. We took a table in the elevated section, overlooking the bar, and ordered desserts, drinks and a basket of fries.  But just an hour later, the crowd was going crazy, sparked by KJ (karaoke jockey) Giuseppe's hilarious butt-shaking dance and delivery of of Prince's "Kiss."  Young people starting filing in around 10 p.m., and KJ Giuseppe got many of us up out of our seats and bar stools, singing and dancing.   “When you …
