Middletown North High School Head Football Coach Joe Trezza has stepped down from his coaching position, said acting Athletic Director Nicholas Pizzulli. "The position will be posted in the near future, and applications for the position will be reviewed," said Pizzulli. He added that as of Friday, "we do not have any other indications that his staff is not returning." According to Scott Stump's All Shore Media sports news site, Trezza led Middletown North to consecutive Central Jersey Group IV playoff appearances in 2008 and 2009. The Middletown Township Lions Club will be hosting their ‘Fire ‘N Ice’ Fundraiser Monday, August 6 at the New England Hot Dog Company and Rita’s Italian Ice to benefit the club’s charitable programs and initiatives. Fifteen percent of all sales between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. will be donated to the club upon presentation of the event flyer. Participants must present the flyer, which can be downloaded and printed from the Middletown Lions Club website, http://mlions.org/Lionsfundraiser.pdf, in order for the organization to receive credit.
