Man Charged with Burglaries in Middletown and Red Bank

A Bloomfield man was arrested and charged with the alleged burglary of one Middletown home and three Red Bank homes.

The Middletown Township Police Department arrested a Bloomfield man last week for his alleged role in the burglary of four area homes. Zecariah J. Hubbard, 20, of Bloomfield, faces 12 charges of burglary, theft, and conspiracy, after he allegedly burglarized one Middletown home and three Red Bank homes. According to the indictment, Hubbard allegedly entered a home on Alexander Court in Middletown on Tuesday, June 5; a home on Campbell Court in Red Bank on Thursday, May 31; a home on Hubbard Avenue and a home on West Front Street in Red Bank on Monday, June 4. Police Blotter: Multiple Juveniles Face Marijuana Possession Charges

The following incidents occurred between Monday, May 28 and Monday, June 4.

The Middletown Police Department provides a blotter of recent police activities on a regular basis. The reports below are reprinted unedited from the release prepared by Detective Lieutenant Stephen Dollinger. The information concerning the above arrests was obtained directly from the Middletown Township Police Department's records. While all suspects have been arrested and charged with the named offenses, convictions depend on the outcome of court appearances. All are presumed innocent until proven guilty in that court of law.

Fire Dept: Ex-Fireman's Badge Was MIA

While carrying township police, firefighter and EMS credentials, former Port Monmouth Fire Company member arrested in Keansburg on drugs and weapons charges.

Almost six years after he was ejected from the Port Monmouth Fire Company, former member Robert Buckalew still hasn't returned his fireman's badge. Repeated tries by the Middletown Township Fire Department to retrieve Buckalew's badge since his ouster in 2006 have come up short according to John Isaksen, public information officer for the department that oversees fire companies in the municipality. "Several attempts to recover his Middletown Township Fire Department badge were unsuccessful," said Isaksen, who also confirmed Buckalew's status as an ex-Port Monmouth firefighter in an emailed statement on Monday. But, what if you could go deeper, accessing the most up-to-date statistics for those towns, as well as their budgets and the budgets of comparable municipalities? That is at its core the basis for The TownStats Project, organized by The Independent Center, a non-profit public policy organization, and funded by members of New Brunswick-based The Fund for New Jersey and The Geraldine R. Two marijuana possession arrests in two days

Police arrested two people for possession of marijuana within two days: On Feb. 28 at 7:15 p.m., Patrolman Richard Fulham was on patrol in the area of Gillville Lane when he observed a vehicle make a turn without using its turn signal. Officer Fulham conducted a motor vehicle stop and approached the vehicle. While speaking with the occupants, Officer Fulham detected the odor of what he identified as raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. He informed the occupants of his observation at which point the passenger, identified as Patrick Collins, 19, of Route 33, Neptune, voluntarily reached down to the floor mat and retrieved a tin foil package and handed it to the officer.
